Fifth graders kicked off their ancient civilizations unit with a STEM activity. Student groups had 40 minutes to build their very own "Great Pyramid of Giza" using 1,000 toothpicks and two bags of marshmallows! It was awesome to see their creative minds at work!!

17 HBC Secondary students attended Educators Rising Expo at U.S.F. today to explore the career of education. This expo is geared for students who may be interested in the career of teaching. Students were able to attend various sessions including topics of: Special Education, English Language Learners, Middle School Teaching and P is for Pirate - Teaching is a Treasure. Students had lunch on campus, took a campus tour and met with college professors. Great opportunity for our students to be college & career ready! #HBCCollegeCareerReady

Students wrote a hypothesis and graphed the data and then analyzed the results. $100 Question: Are bags of candy packaged randomly OR by a machine which ensures the same distribution of candies in each bag every time?
