HBC Fall Sports Update: 9-12th Varsity Football and Volleyball will begin practice in the AM of Monday, Aug. 16th. 7th-8th grade Football and Volleyball will start on Monday, Aug 23rd. 7th graders and Sophomores need to have physicals done prior to the start of practice. Also, please do not schedule senior pictures, vacations or appointments during practice times. Practice is a valuable time to prepare for the upcoming season. HBC World Classroom Field Trip to Washington DC - Day 3 - We spent most of the day at Gettysburg National Military Park. Highlights included Gettysburg Museum, Cyclorama Painting, Tour through the Town of Gettysburg, Tour of Battlefield (pictured: Guide Lee (retired Soc. Studies Teacher) pointing to Union forces from Confederates Seminary Ridge, student over looking battlefield on Little Round Top, 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment Memorial - 420 Minnesotans served at Gettysburg) and Gettysburg Cemetery (Lincoln gives Gettysburg Address at Cemetery) As Lincoln stated at the conclusion of his address, “... that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” ~Abraham Lincoln 1863 #HBCatDC #Patriotpride #WorldClassrooms
