HBC 6th Grade Field Trip is today and the 6th graders are having fun and learning at the Rock County History Center and Herreid Military Museum. Students are connecting what they learned in 6th grade social studies - MN History to real historical artifacts and presentations. Spring Art Exhibit was a HIT! Secondary art students showcased their talents at tonight's art exhibit at the secondary band concert. From stunning paintings, to embroidery, to clay sculptures, our talented students have poured their hearts and souls into their masterpieces. 3. Jr. High meet tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7th in Slayton is CANCELED.
4. Jr. High Conference Meet is in Slayton on Friday, May 10th.

At the beginning of April the 5th graders were asked to participate in a Robot Design Contest by Millennium Recycling out of Sioux Falls, SD. Each student was given the task to come up with their own creative design and name for the robot. There were over 200 entries from different schools.
The winner was announced on Earth Day last week Monday. HBC 5th Grader Laney Top was the winner with her unique design and name, "SPUD". She also won the class a tour of the Millennium Recycling Facility which included donuts and a t-shirt for all the 5th graders!" Elite work Laney!

It was CEO Signing Day yesterday (5/1) at HBC! Congratulations to our Class of 2024 - 2025 SWMN CEOs from HBC - Beau Bakken, Jackson Gacke, Blake Leenderts & Isabel Wysong!
