Parent Connection

H-BC Families:

Greetings!

We are full swing into the month of November!  I’m having a great November!  Our students are the best!  Thank you for sharing them with us at H-BC Elementary!  Remember we continue to have boiler issues…temps have been steady in the mid to upper 60s.  We may have to adjust our schedule on the fly.  Make sure your student is dressed in layers.  Thank you so much for understanding.

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM - Monday, November 11th, 9:00 AM, H-BC Secondary School in Hills.  The community is invited to this program honoring our veterans.    H-BC Students and Faculty will take part.  Elementary students will be bussed to Hills and back to Beaver Creek.  Students and Community are encouraged to wear red, white & blue.  We would like to invite all of our Veterans to participate.  Please share!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE H-BC FOOTBALL TEAM  winning the quarterfinal round of the State Football Playoffs last night.  Now on to the BANK!  GO PATRIOTS!  The team plays on Thursday, November 14 at either 1 pm or 4 pm in Minneapolis at the US Bank Stadium. H-BC Schools will not have school for students on Thursday, November 14.    Here is a link to purchase tickets to the game:  LINK. Tickets available on 11/12/24.

CONGRATULATIONS H-BC SECONDARY SCHOOL!  Today representatives from H-BC Secondary School received their Blue Ribbon School Award in Washington DC. Only 356 schools in our nation and only 7 schools in Minnesota received the 2024 award.  #patriotpride

FOOD SHELF DONATION/COMPETITION: The classroom competition for grocery donations continues.  Items for Rock County Food Shelf will be collected through November 15.  The class with the most points will receive a pizza party.

PARENTS PLEASE SIGN UP: The H-BC Elementary JMC Conference Scheduler is open for the upcoming conferences. Please note the following change:  Conferences will be held November 12 and 21.  November 12 is a scheduled early dismissal with conferences.  New: HBC schools will have an early dismissal on Thursday, November 21, 2024 and Elementary Parent Teacher Conferences.      Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK:  H-BC Elementary will celebrate American Education Week November 18-22.  Please join us as we celebrate!  See the rsvp for the  grandparents/special person’s day meal at the bottom of this newsletter. This form was sent home.  Please return it before November 15.

ANIMALS AT SCHOOL:  Please do not bring pets to school.  We have students that have allergies along with other safety concerns.  Thank you for being mindful of others.

SCHOOL DAY STARTS AT 8:15 AM:  The school day at H-BC Elementary begins at 8:15 am.  Children arriving after 8:15 are tardy.  Teaching your child to be punctual, shows respect for their teacher and classmates.

FAMILY FUN:  Early Family Childhood Family Education is based on the idea that parents provide their child’s first and most significant learning environment and are the child’s first & most important teacher.  Children birth to age 5 and their parents/guardians are invited to join other families from 6:00-7:30 pm at H-BC Elementary on these upcoming Tuesdays:  November 19, December 3 and December 17.

AM BUS CHANGES: For morning bus changes please call the HBC bus line--make sure to identify your student and the bus number they are riding.
