H-BC Families:

Student council elections were held today!  My hat goes off to all the candidates.  They all did a fine job with their campaign posters .  It was nice to see all the interest!  

For your planning, we will be recognizing Homecoming Week October 7-11. The Homecoming Parade is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, October 11.  Afterwards the plan is to take our K-5 Students to the Girls Volleyball game at the high school for them to watch the game and cheer on the Patriots. Watch for details to come.

PICTURE MAKEUP DAY:  School Time Photos will be back Tuesday, September 24, for those who did not take their picture at our Open House.  MWF Little Patriot Academy makeup day will be October 30.  If purchasing pictures is a hardship, please call the H-BC Elementary office.

Flu  Shot Clinic at H-BC:
Sanford Luverne Clinic,  H-BC School District, and the Luverne Area Community Foundation will be offering flu vaccines to all children enrolled in grades K-12.  Sandford will bill your insurance for the flu vaccine if you have coverage. However, through collaboration with the Luverne Area Community Foundation, all out-of-pocket and non-insured costs will be covered for school-aged children.  

The in-school flu immunization clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
To receive the flu shot, the consent forms must be completed and returned to the school by Friday, October 4, 2024.  The form is attached and one was sent home with each student.

PTO VIKING TICKET PACKAGE: To kick off fall, the PTO is doing a raffle for one VERY BIG PRIZE. The winner will receive 4 tickets (lower level, row 13) to the VIkings vs. Detroit football game on Sunday, Oct. 20 at US Bank Stadium. The prize package includes a $50 Visa Gift Card.  

The drawing will be held during halftime of the homecoming football game on October 11th. Last minute tickets can be purchased at the volleyball game and first half of the football game that night. You do not have to be present to win.  Contact a PTO member to get your tickets!

ACTION NEEDED:  If you haven’t done so already, please fill out the free and reduced lunch applications otherwise known as “Application for Educational Benefits”.   Registration link found here: https://tinyurl.com/y5yz9soj   Even though meals are free this year, your application does have benefits for district programs.

AM BUS CHANGES: For morning bus changes please call the HBC bus line--make sure to identify your student and the bus number they are riding.

AM DROP OFF:  If it’s raining or you don't see our school staff on the playground in the morning, please drop your student off at Door #1 on the North Side of the School.
