H-BC Secondary Families:
Week 2 at HBC Secondary was a successful week. Students have their schedules established and learning has begun!
Thank you to Dave’s Repair - Hills, MN for sponsoring the FFA Ag Trip to the Clay County Ag Fair in Spencer, IA. It was FFA Day at the fair and there were hundreds of FFA students from around the area. Students were able to see livestock, the latest ag machinery, meet with over 13 colleges/universities with ag programs and also heard the keynote speaker - Carter Howell.
Upcoming College and Career Opportunities for 10th/11th/12th Graders (New)
There are numerous College and Career Ready opportunities for our upperclassmen (10th/11th/12th grades) that are coming up. Some of these opportunities are optional (please sign up) and some are mandatory (Career Fair and College Fair).

Rising Educators - 10th/11th/12th graders interested in the education field. Students will be traveling to SDSU on Monday, September 16 to hear from educational leaders about various pathways/careers for future educators. SDSU Campus Scavenger Hunt & SDSU Ice Cream Truck. 8 students signed up for this trip and will leave for SDSU at 7:00 AM on Monday, 9/16.
10th Graders to Career Expo (Worthington) on Wednesday, September 25th. All students will go to expo to learn about the numerous careers around the Tri-State Area.
11th Graders & Select 12th Graders to College Fair (Luverne) on Wednesday, October 2nd in Luverne. Numerous colleges will be represented at this event.

Updated Student Schedule - Schedule on JMC
Please make sure you are getting the most updated student schedule on the JMC app/website. Students were able to change schedules this week.

Back to school JMC Online Registration--Thanks to all the parents and families that completed their student online registration through JMC. It is an easy way for the school to collect the necessary information for school enrollment. If you have not yet completed registration for your student please do so as soon as possible. Log into www.hbc.onlinejmc.com. If you receive a message from the school stating all or a portion of your students registration is incomplete, please act promptly! Call the office with questions 507-673-2541.
AM BUS CHANGES--For morning bus changes please call or text the bus line--make sure to identify your student and the bus number they are riding: 507-962-3240 Ext. 4.
H-BC Secondary Picture Days!-- Tuesday, September 24 & Wednesday, October 30 (retakes)
SECOND ENTREE PURCHASE: Students in grades K-5 may purchase a second entree with their meal. The entree is $2.75. If choosing a second entree, students may pay cash or the family lunch account will be charged. Students MUST write name on Cafeteria Sheet if they want a second entree.
PATRIOT DAY-- September 11 is Patriot Day! 23 years ago, we remember. Never forget. Good time to have a discussion with your student!
Be Present - Please make Attendance and Getting to Class on Time a PRIORITY! Students who have perfect attendance & NO tardies will be part of the Doughnut Club for Quarter 1!
