H-BC Elementary Families:
May is a wonderful time to share appreciation with the staff at H-BC Elementary!
Today was LUNCH HERO DAY! We are thankful for our food service team. Donna, Anita, Marie & Lisa, YOU ARE APPRECIATED!
SCHOOL PRINCIPALS DAY WAS MAY 1. (It's never too late to send Mr. Holthaus a note of thanks -from Brenda)
TEACHER APPRECIATION: Join us next week, May 6-10, as we celebrate our teaching staff! Our PTO sent home forms with suggestions for recognizing your child/ren’s teachers.
NURSE APPRECIATION: May 8th is School Nurse Appreciation Day. Mrs. Leenderts & Mrs. Opheim are a very important part of our team at H-BC. Please join us in thanking them!
MAY IS BETTER SPEECH & HEARING MONTH: We are thankful for Mrs.Vaughn our Speech and Language Pathologist and the work she does with students!

TONIGHT IS THE SKATING PARTY:
ENTREPRENEUR FAIR: Information was sent home with all the details about the Entrepreneur Fair on Friday, May 10. The 5th grade students are learning about developing a business model. They have formed partnerships or a sole priopreitorship. They are creating products or businesses while learning about expenses and marketing. K-4 Students will see all the products during their lunch break and may bring a maximum of $10 to spend at the Fair!
MILLENNIUM RECYCLING TOUR: Today, Mr. Gerhke’s 5th grade class enjoyed a field trip to Millennium Recycling in Sioux Falls. They were able to see Laney Top’s winning robot entry “SPUD” in person. Thank you to Millennium Recycling for the informative tour and all gifts you shared.
2ND GRADE FIELD TRIP: Mrs. Edmundson's class had a great field trip today. They enjoyed roller skating, Sertoma Park and the Outdoor Campus.
