Hello, Everyone! I am Shelly Fischer, one of the kindergarten teachers here at Hills - Beaver Creek Elementary. This will be my eighteenth year of teaching with 15 of them in kindergarten. I grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa and received my education degree from the University of South Dakota. Currently, I am in my second and last year of the masters program at Southwest Minnesota State. I live in Sioux Falls with my family - my husband, Nick and two children- Kenzie (12) and Lauren (9). I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, swimming, boating, and of course, teaching. I love teaching here and your community spirit and pride are two of the reasons why. I look forward to meeting all of the new families and children each year and to all of the challenges it brings. Have a great school year!! |

My name is Michele Baker. I have taught at Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary for the past twelve years. I feel blessed to teach in such a great school district! I grew up on a farm between Hills and Beaver Creek and attended H-BC Elementary and High School. I received my Bachelor of Art degree in elementary and early childhood education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I also have a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from SDSU in Brookings, South Dakota. My husband Tim and I feel fortunate that our daughters attend H-BC. Peyton (10) is in 4th grade and enjoys reading and writing stories. Karlee (5 1/2) is in Kindergarten and is excited to have learned how to read. Abby (2) is a "future" Patriot who delights us with her questions and love of life.
